DD-ERS Proposal Submission Statistics Are Now Available

We are pleased to announce that 106 proposals were submitted for the Director’s Discretionary Early Release Science (ERS) program.  The 106 ERS proposals requested 3,683.4 hours of observing time, corresponding to an oversubscription factor of 7.4.  

The submitted proposals reflect a total of 2,957 investigators/collaborators, or an average of 28 scientists per team. The largest team is comprised of 138 investigators/collaborators. Principal Investigators (PIs) and Co-Principal Investigators (CoPIs) are based in 15 countries, with representation including CoIs and Collaborators from 38 countries, 43 U.S. states, and 1 U.S. territory. The interactive map above shows the total number of PIs, CoPIs, and CoIs who submitted proposals from each country, as well as breakdowns by state within the United States.
