JWST ETC Version 1.2 Has Been Released

The JWST Exposure Time Calculator (ETC) version 1.2 has been released. This release supports the JWST General Observer (GO) Cycle 1 proposals with  new features, accuracy improvements, and usability enhancements, including:

  • Normalization in surface brightness units for extended sources
  • Wide Aperture Target Acquisition (WATA) mode for NIRSpec
  • Improved PSF handling for coronagraphy
  • Uses updated frame times for NIRCam, NIRISS, and NIRSpec
  • Expand over filters is supported for Target Acquisition modes
  • ETC Engine inputs are now included in the download products
  • Usability enhancements allowing:
    • The deletion of multiple calculations by using the “Edit ->Delete marked calculation” option.
    • Users to specify any scene other than scene 1 as the “default scene.”
    • Reporting of the version number of out-of-date workbooks on the "Workbook lists" page.
  • Additional bug fixes and accuracy improvements
